Vive la differance!
In the words of comic Steve Martin from his early years, “those French have a different word for everything!”
Of course, and there is much different about France or any other country for that matter. It is good to see and experience new things. At best it expands our horizons, at worst, it simply makes us appreciate what we have and there is nothing wrong with that. Still, one of the best feelings for me is returning through US immigration as it means I am back on US soil and there is no place like home.
I love to travel but that doesn’t mean I like the discomfort of not knowing about the food (MAN, those were big snails) or not being able to communicate, etc. But that discomfort wears off after a day or two and I learn to relax and embrace the experience.
How about you? Done anything different lately? How have you changed your routine or are you doing the same old thing. Eventually that puts you in a rut and ruts are bad places for our lives to be.
We are all creatures of habit but every so often you need to break the routine. Go ahead, do something different.
