Significance
I had lunch with 2 buddies today. We are all doing well in most areas of our lives. Yet the conversation turned to what I term “anxiety” and what Tracy called “significance.” I have been very fortunate in the course of my life to do some incredible things, meet some phenomenal people, and make a positive impact on people as a leader and a speaker. Yet, I am sometimes anxious to be doing more. This can be a healthy prompt to keep striving. In fact, if we didnt have that drive we would risk becoming complacent and that leads to stagnation and death.
In fact, this concept of making a difference came up on a radio interview I did this afternoon. The interviewer asked how people could get back to significance, to making a difference? So much of that answer goes back to the fundamental principles of success. You know – work hard, tell the truth, play fair, etc. I know this, the rewards of this effort are worth it.
So, How are you doing? Are you in survival mode or are you moving towards significance, towards making a real impact on people?
"Thank you again for presenting at our annual meeting in Las Vegas. We have heard many very favorable comments about your program and look forward to working with you next year."
