I am in Montreal in the midst of an intense week with a great client. We start at 8 and go til 6 – a quick break and then dinner. These are 18 hour days and it is rewarding. Over the course of the week there will be nearly 100 people on site to work on this project and they will all put in some intense effort.

And not one of them is complaining. In fact, they welcome the opportunity to be part of this effort.

It just goes to show that people dont really mind working hard. In fact, with solid leadership and with a clear purpose they often welcome it.

How is your team doing with this? Are they shuffling in mumbling it is time to make the donuts or are they inspired to do great things for you?

Of course, we go back to the importance of leadership and communicating intent and purpose. Not easy but critically important.
