One thing to learn from the 0 wins and 16 losses Detroit Lions
I saw that NBC has (recently fired) Lions GM Matt Millen on the air as a color commentator for the NFL playoffs. Millen, as I remember was a decent player, but clearly as a GM he failed. Don’t take my word for it, take his. He said, on the air, he would have fired himself after the 2008 season.
Hmmm. He was the GM. He admits he would have fired himself. For some reason the owner kept him employed. If Millen thought he was doing so poorly why didn’t he simply resign? I guess I will not get the chance to ask him but I will ask you. How are you doing at work? Or at home?
Would you hire you, or make the decision to retain you today based on your recent work? Would your spouse marry you again knowing all they know now? Deep inside we all know there are some things we can be working on to get better but for some reason we don’t do it. Millen didn’t resign (I am sure he hoped/wanted to turn it around) but he would have fired himself. I am not suggesting you resign but if you wouldn’t hire/marry you – you have some work to do.
The holiday is over, the New Year is really here, it is the first full week of the year. Might as well get started on those things you KNOW you need to do something about. You will be glad you did.
"Wally's presentation was excellent, both as to presentation style and content. He ranks as one of the best educational or training presenters I have experienced. Frankly, HE IS THE BEST. "
