Left hand vs the right..working against each other

Just got a solicitation from Chase on behalf of Continental airlines for a new credit card. Of course, we all get these all the time.

What gets my attention on this is the fact that United and Continental have merged and are becoming one airline that is called United. It is still kindĀ of weird to see planes painted in the Continental colors with United on them instead but I am getting used to it.

Clearly the marketing department at Chase, or wherever, hasnt gotten the word or they dont care. Either way, it suggests to me that one part of the organization is doing its own thing while the same can be said about other parts. Is this a big deal? Probably not. however, it reminds us that communication across functions is important.

How big are the silos in your place?
