From my visit to Penn State a few weeks ago…..

Evidently Joe Paterno has a quote on the wall in his office….it says….Am I therefore your enemy because I tell you the truth…wow.

How often do we lash out or ignore people who give us feedback. All too often we refuse to listen because we do not want to listen. When someone gives us feedback, in whatever format, they are giving us a gift. It may not be nicely gift wrapped but it is still something we can do something with.

I guess there is a flip side to this with how we deliver the truth and why we deliver it. Certainly Coach Paterno is in a role where he must deliver that regularly.  Feedback is an important part of getting better at what we do. Seek it out.
