Eager anticipation
Most of you know I like to play golf. I am getting better but still have some work to do. I like it because it requires discipline and because my body simply doesn’t want to do triathlons anymore. One of the unique things about golf that I like is that every course is different and some courses are special.
Last Thursday and Friday I spoke at the Marriott at Sawgrass. This is the hotel located next door to the TPC Stadium course which has the famous 17th hole island green that thepros play on. From the moment the client retained me I was looking forward to this trip. My best friend from the Marines was coming to join me for a few days and we would play on a few very nice courses and one of those very special ones.
It was an outstanding trip. The client was great, the presentations were great, the camaraderie was great and the golf….. Well, it was golf. So, some great, some not so great, shots but we were there! The trip exceeded my expectations and I look forward to next year when we find another place to go for a few days and live life.
Let’s face it. We are all busy with work, family, kids, Wall St meltdowns and any other combination of challenges. It is very easy to get deep in the weeds with all those things and turn life into an endurance test that can only be lost. People exist in some sort of chronic misery. I hope that isn’t you.
What are you looking forward to? For what do you have eager anticipation? Without this you aren’t living, you are existing.
Last year we played the Bethpage Black, this year the stadium course. Next year? I will let you know. I am still enjoying the memory of this weekend and only just beginning to strategize for next year. What are you strategizing towards?
"Thank you again for presenting at our annual meeting in Las Vegas. We have heard many very favorable comments about your program and look forward to working with you next year."
