Doing good by mentoring

There are many groups across the country trying to help veterans returning from Iraq and Afghanistan. Because there are so many it is tough for them to get publicity and sometimes it seems they are working at cross purposes. In an ideal world we would have an umbrella organization that takes care of this important activity but we dont live in an ideal world so the diligent efforts of concerned citizens will have to do. There are many programs and I hope you will find one and find a way to help these men and women who need some guidance as they make the transition back to corporate America.

One that deserves mention is American Corporate Partners http://www.acp-usa.org/. It is a new group with only 6 companies as members but it is growing and it needs your organization to sign up and and offer some of your employees to mentor returning veterans.

A member of my Board of Directors who is employed at Morgan Stanley has volunteered as have several hundred other employees of the six firms. Of course, demand far outweighs supply.

Please visit the website and contact ACP and see if your firm can help. If ACP is not ready for you yet, just let me know and we will find you a place to help.
