Delayed with the Greatest Generation

Waiting in Baltimore for my delayed flight home. There is a flight to Cleveland delayed too. The majority of the passengers on that flight are Honor Flight folks. Those are the WWII vets and their guardians who come to DC for the day to visit the memorials. You may remember I was a guardian last year. Have tried to do it since then but am an only alternate as the waiting list is so long to be one.

Anyway, I dont usually make friends at the airport. I keep my head down and do work but tonight I am one of them. Having a great time just socializing and telling war stories. Long day for those veterans but smiles all around for this trip of a lifetime. Within 90 days at least one of them will report for final muster. (sad) We owe them so much. I can only hope our nation rises to the challenges of today as it did in 1941.

Semper Fidelis.

" ...it was one of the most dynamic and interesting talks I have ever witnessed on general leadership and effective management. I thought it was very interesting to see how you approached the topic from the bottom up -- from the grunt's perspective. This made the topic very easy for me to relate to and gave me ideas on how to develop the leaders I am responsible for."
