Check your attitude
OK, earlier this week we talked about assumptions. Today we turn inward and talk about our own attitudes.
For a variety of reasons that only came up this week I am able to play three of the Top 100 Courses You Can Play in the US. Three in four days. I dream of weeks like this. Day one went OK but not as good as I would have liked. But pretty solid on the course. This was at the Highlands at Primland.
Second course was The Greenbrier at The Greenbrier. Didn’t play well and got crabby. I had to remind myself that it is about the journey not the score on any given day. I wish I could have had the self-awareness on the golf course to get a grip on my foul mood. But at dinner I managed to remind myself to relax. I was able to find the self-awareness to recalibrate my attitude.
Tomorrow I play the third course, the Cascades at The Homestead. Hoping for better. The holes I played today on a non-top 100 course were only fair but I was showing some promise.
Of course, this is not about my golf game it is about self-awareness. One of the hallmarks of great leaders is a high-degree of self-awareness.
