Buying loyalty
You cannot buy loyalty, you can only earn it.
Chapter Nine of the Art of War by Sun Tzu states “one who frequently grants rewards is in deep distress.” Heck, that would even fit on a fortune cookie!
In Libya Gadhafi is using mercenaries to fight for him. His people are fighting against him. No loyalty there.
You earn loyalty through the sustained application of the nine principles of leadership found in No Yelling. You don’t buy it wit rewards.
