Halloween

Well, it has been a busy week up here in Montreal but am heading home on Friday – Halloween. I have never gotten into Halloween, not sure why. Yes, I know dressing up etc can be fun but I like me and I feel no need to dress up and be someone else. In fact, I just want to be a better version of me. A better husband, a better parent, a better friend, a better speaker, a better golfer, etc. You get the idea.

Maybe I was traumatized by a Halloween costume in my youth and I don’t want to repeat that. Or maybe, rather than spending time and energy on being someone else, even for a day, I would rather be me and work at being a better me.

I am not being critical of those who like this holiday. I simply am not a big fan and thought I would share my thoughts with you.

I will, however, eat the heck out of some chocolate this weekend. I don’t want to be a Scrooge Pumpkin!

Boo! You are taking Halloween way too seriously, Mr. Motivation!! Thank God you’re at least eating some candy!!

Point is, halloween isn’t about you, it’s about the kids (and them getting candy for you to eat)… Let them dream about being superman and saving the world, or being a Power Ranger and defending the Pentagon. Only kids that know how to dream grow up to be people that know how to achieve dreams…

    OK. OK…You both win…
