Giving Thanks

We talk alot about giving thanks this time of year. All too often the coversation is a generic one but here are some ways you can do some very specific things to say thanks.

Thanks to my friend Mary Cantando for posting these tips in her blog Click to see the blog

1. Catch someone doing something positive and give them honest, on-the-spot verbal praise for it.
2. Write a short note of praise on the white board in their office or posted in a public place.
3. Leave a roll of Lifesavers on their desk with a note of thanks for the way they saved the day.
4. Send a letter praising them to their parents, spouse or significant other.
5. Send a hand written thank you card to their home. Mention a specific they have done recently that has made a difference in your life.

And, of course, thanks to you for reading.

Wally- since you mention it, I want to thank you for being a friend and mentor. I almost feel as if you should bill me as an executive coach! You have opened my eyes to things I might not have otherwise seen, and have definitely inspired me to be my best. I look forward to working with you more in the future.

I know you weren't fishing for a compliment, but that's where my gut went when I read your post. I am learning to follow that more these days…
