Humbling
I just spent two days in a selling skills workshop. I didnt NEED to be there. Business is good but I wanted to make sure I was doing the right things at the right time to make the most of all the leads coming my way. After two days I can safely say, I have ALOT of work to do. The program was conducted by The Brooks Group in Greensboro, NC and these guys KNOW sales. Bill Brooks is one of those speakers who grabs you and holds you – no fluff here, just great content. The program was loaded with facts and data about what works and what doesnt and it opened my eyes to the many mistakes I make on a regular basis.
I think we all need a wake up call from time to time. Like I said, business is good and I was getting a little complacent. How about you? If you want a wake up call you actually have to call the front desk and let them know you want the call. For me, attending the class was the willingness to get my call. Are you attending professional development programs? Are you upgrading your processes and offerings to continue to be of high value to your customers? If you are not doing these things you are putting yourself at risk.
"I have attended quite a few leadership seminars, and have tried to gather and relate things from each of them, but yours hit all 3 of us with material that relates and for myself commands an internal level of accountability and responsibility in what I do at our company. "
