My drive to VT
Since many of you have asked, I bought a 2009 Toyota Highlander. Used to have a Chevy SUV and wanted another SUV
Although I was on a mission to get to VT and back, it is safe to say that my trip was a break from my normal routine. We are creatures of habit and the problem with that is we get in a groove and the groove becomes a rut. We miss out on things.
On the trip I listened to music I would normally not listen too. I listened to documentary on legendary jazz guitar player Les Paul and his music. Very interesting.
A new hit country song is about a ride on a green tractor.
On the trip back I let the GPS be my guide. Early on it took me to the very south of Lake Champlain where I saw a huge British flag flying over some old military fortications. As a product of the NY State school system I knew this to be Crown Point. Just a few miles south would be Ticonderoga (an important battle in the War of Independence). I even got out of my car and walked the ground for a while. Very interesting.
Les Paul, green tractors, Crown Point….all because I got out of my usual routine.
"I have attended quite a few leadership seminars, and have tried to gather and relate things from each of them, but yours hit all 3 of us with material that relates and for myself commands an internal level of accountability and responsibility in what I do at our company. "
