Almost there
We all have heard the “story” of the person who stopped in their quest and didn’t realize how close they were to the finish line. The story about pushing a rock uphill and with one more push, victory would be theirs, the rock would be over the peak of the hill, but they stopped and the rock rolls back to the beginning. There are plenty of real world examples of people who kept pushing and didn’t give up. We call them winners or successful people. Of course, we don’t read about the people who stopped pushing because they don’t achieve their goals.
Eight days ago I missed my goal in the club championship (as you can see noted below on June 22). I considered quiting but I kept pushing. Today, I shot my lowest score ever for 9 holes. It was a 38. Two over par. (for those who know the game, I opened with a double bogey then a string of pars, a birdie, bogey and a few more pars).
I am happy today. I know I may not shoot this well on the course tomorrow but I know I will do it again (and better I hope). I didn’t quit. I kept pushing and the payback, the reward, was only one week later.
So, take it from me. Keep pushing. If you really want to do it. Keep pushing. Set your goal and continue the quest. Keep pushing.
"Wally's presentation was excellent, both as to presentation style and content. He ranks as one of the best educational or training presenters I have experienced. Frankly, HE IS THE BEST. "
