12 Trout

As you may remember from my last post, we went fishing today. We caught 12 trout.

We got to the spot at about 10:30 and were fishing by 10:45. I left my cell phone in the car and don’t usually wear a watch so I had no idea what time it was after that but we were having fun. I felt a little hungry after a while and then went to check the time. It was now 12:45. We had a snack and kept fishing. Again, no idea what time it was but we were having fun. We finally stopped fishing near 3PM. What a great day.

When is the last time you left your cell phone/pda and just had fun? Most of the time when I play golf I have my pda with me. Most every other time I have it with me too. So, I know what time it is but I am also seeing the incoming emails and phone messages. Even if I don’t answer them I know they are there. Not today. I knew there would be messages but that was not my concern today. Today was about fishing with the kids.

We got back in the car and they watched a video as I returned some calls on the three hour drive. Home in time for fresh trout on the grill.

We all need a day like this from time to time. I am looking forward to my next one. When is yours?
