Early this month, and then just a few days ago, as my son (age 7) and I walked through the mall we saw Christmas decorations in full array. He remarked, “Dad, what happened to Thanksgiving?” Great question. Perceptive kid.

We know the answer. The sooner retailers can get decorations up the sooner you start thinking about Christmas shopping and anything to drive sales must be a good thing. Even around my neighborhood we saw Christmas directions up well before the 30 days prior permitted by covenants.

I like Thanksgiving for all the reasons that the retailers dont. It has nothing to do with shopping and everything to do with family and food. It is truly my favorite holiday.

Today was a nice day for our family. The weather was nice and all went well at home. I hope you can say the same.

I am thankful for my family and our country and I hope as we launch into the Christmas season you remember to count your blessings along the way. The Pilgrims were celebrating survival. I am sure we all have alot more to be thankful for. I know I do.
