The entertainment world was jolted when actress Brittany Murphy died Sunday, Dec. 20.

FROM AN OBSCURE WEBSITE
The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Enduring Freedom. Sgt. Albert D. Ware, 27, of Chicago, Ill., died Dec. 18 in Arghandab River Valley, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked his vehicle with an improvised explosive device. He was assigned to the 782nd Combat Support Battalion, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, N.C.

When I was in the Marines I deployed overseas on 2 of ten Christmases. No complaints. Much like the men and women deployed today.

Untimely deaths are always sad but I have a special place in my heart for our fallen warriors. I know you do too.
