Greetings from Arizona

Busy weekend. Am at the national convention of the National Speakers Association (NSA). NSA is the trade association of experts who speak professionally. The convention is our big meeting where we install new officers, issue awards and recognitions and attend educational sessions. Arrived Friday night and have been hard at it all weekend.

Professional education and professional networking. These are two important themes these days and I am trying to practice what I preach. My assistant is here and we are working to make FireStarter better for you.

What are you doing to improve your professional relationships? Are you learning how to do your job better or deliver better value for the firm or to the client? A key point many speakers are making is the importance of investing in yourself now to make sure you are best positioned for the recovery.

"As a result of the session you delivered to my group, using “No Yelling” as the guide we have experienced an exceptional start to our 2009 construction season. Safety as usual is paramount, and our production rates have exceeded even my high expectations. There has been a positive shift in ownership from all that attended, which leads me to believe we could have the same success if we did the same kind of training with our front line labor force."
