Back From Alaska

Long road trip last week. Anchorage for a day and then Fairbanks. Snowed in Anchorage. Didn’t get dark in Fairbanks until after 10PM. More airplanes than cars in that state. You get the idea. Very different.

I was in Anchorage back in 1987 (I think) and I got out and around a tad more and learned more about the state this trip. The amount of preserved land for national parks, wilderness areas etc is staggering. Everything about the place is different. And you don’t even need a passport!

But you know. There are cool places just down the road from you. Sure, there may not be Grizzly Bears (probably a good thing) but your state and the federal government have lands near you for you to visit. Might be a nice diversion and break for you.

Oh, what is not different are the challenges businesses are facing. That is wh I was there. Working with a client to help their people become better leaders. Leadership is leadership. The locale may change and some of the scenarios may be different but deep down the principles are pretty much universal. It remains for you to apply them tailored to your scenario and context.

Rather than complain about all that is wrong and why you cannot, figure a way to make it happen. This is the path to success. One step at a time.

In Alaska, you just may have to take a few more steps to get there!

Tomorrow, the 5K.

"Wally’s presentation was fast paced, engaging and right on target. His mix of personal adversity and success was inspiring to our management team. I’ve received countless accolades from my staff regarding Wally’s presentation. More importantly, Wally was able to incorporate our Corporate Values and Culture into his presentation. I would highly recommend Wally Adamchik and look forward to inviting him back for future presentations."
