Gone Raftin
Some have asked where have I been lately? Well, I took vacation with the family and did minimal electronic work. No blog postings, minimal email and maybe three phone calls.
We didn’t do any fishing but we did go rafting on the Upper Pigeon river in Tennessee. Mostly class III and some class IV rapids. Way cool. I had never done that and am ready to go again. I am sure with class IV right after class V and on and on would be a bigger, more tiring challenge, but sign me up.
We tubed, we zip lined, went to a magic show and, since we were in Gatlinburg,TN we also went to Dollywood and Splash Country. Dollywood was not bad. Timing is everything. We learned that Aug is much slower for them than July. Lucky us.
It was all good but now it is time to get back to work. In fact, it was a tiring vacation but no complaints.
How are you doing with finding balance in your life and managing the demands placed upon you? Notice I didn’t turn everything off but I did control it.
And if you ever go to Pigeon Forge you will see more pancake houses than you have ever seen. What is up with that?

The ingredients are relatively easy to get and the profit margins on pancakes (according to answer.com) are from 60% to 90%. Just add tourist and voila you’re a successful business owner. Who knew the people of Pigeon Forge were such entrepreneurs.
Good to see you back blogging…
