Your National playground

So, after getting home from NSA last week I was home for two hours and flew to PA to see a client. We talked about succession planning. Got home Thursday night and took the kids to Cape Hatteras Friday afternoon. Came home Sunday.

The trip to Hatteras was to visit a buddy of mine from Quebec. He is in state for two weeks to kite surf. Interesting.

I was reminded on this trip about one of the coolest things I think our nation has. The National Park Service. We visited Hatteras Lighthouse (climbed to the top) and connected with this piece of NC, and US, history. The Park Rangers are always so happy to help and some of them get around. One we talked to had just transferred from Yosemite.

National Parks, National Seashores, National Wildlife Reserves, National Historical Parks, even National Cemeteries, etc. All within an easy drive of wherever you live.

We have all heard the story of the person growing up in NYC who has never been to the Statue of Liberty. Stories like that abound in every locale in America. We have much to thankful for and to appreciate.

Now is as good a time as any to look around and appreciate this great nation and all it has to offer.
