Nope, it's not fake. It's Canadian. Here in Canada, we have this nifty stuff called Homogenized milk. If you remember your chemistry days, a homogeneous mixture is one in which the constituent particles are distributed uniformly throughout the solution.Milk can be considered to be almost like an oil and water solution, and will separate into its components if left alone. Homogenized milk gets around this by running the milk through little tubes during or after the pasteurization process. The fat molecules end up being broken up / reduced in size and are distributed more uniformly throughout the mixture. You end up with milk that doesn't separate into layers.Here in Canada, it's often abbreviated as "***** milk" on carton / bag labels. But nobody actually *asks* for ***** milk at a store. They'll ask for 1%, 2%, whole milk, etc.Because actually asking for "***** milk" would sound ... gay.
