Being a developer myself, mostly in .NET for work, this is why Apple doesn't have more of a share of the market. It's unwillingness to cater to developers. Granted this is cause for a lot of the issues with Windows but giving people more of an option to create custom software on their platform would give people a much bigger incentive to use that platform.
There's a saying that goes like this: "If you owe the bank a million dollars, the bank owns you. But if you owe the bank a billion dollars, you own the bank". I wonder how that will work out between countries....

Why would someone even write an article if the source is a self-selecting survey? There's no way to even pretend with a straight face that results from such surveys are scientific. SquareTrade did a study based on their own statistics (they're a company that provides extended warranties) that showed a failure rate of 23.7% for the 360 over two years, which is very high (PS3 is at 10%, Wii is at 2.7%), but nowhere near the indicated 60%, or the previous Game Informer survey's 43%. They also saw signs that the RROD problem was easing substantially as of late last year.While it's not perfect, since it only counts those who had a warranty through SquareTrade, it had a much larger and more random sample size, and wasn't a self-selecting survey.?
