NPR rocks. This is why the feds decided to stop funding it. Kudos to you for supporting it! I need to do the same, I listen to it every day on the way into work. they also have a great internet streaming ppage that lets you pick whatever stories interest you.

I said this since forever now. The trust fund crowd showed up, with the mid western, who had money and just killed the city. They want to look street savvy and cool so they buy the look, but really they are just rich kids trying to be the rat pack of past years. New York is now Disney land for rich kids, who want to sound urban while being totally safe! The best part is when you say this, they all get mad. Guess what nobody wants to hang out with your over privileged hungry looking self. Lol dig me down but you know its true.

I think the thing i dislike most about these artists who 'speed paint' is the number of defenders they have. It actually doesn't take that much skill to copy a picture so that it can look like the original. However, it takes a lot of skill to copy a picture properly, (.ie not using the eyedropper to find colours). Real skin tones have tons of colour variations, a lot more yellows and purples and pastel colours than what can be perceived by an unartistic eye. This artist has really poor draftmanship ability, just from the way he draws contours. There are tons of artists who do photorealistic really well. I think this one is just good at self promoting more than anything else. |
