| I fully understand this sentiment and my rational mind supports it. But the notion of Sarah Palin running for Presidential candidacy is so comically powerful that it tempts my curiously. What if she made ground? What if her arguments improved? Though I suspect the onslaught of informed insight and comic interest would doom her chances it might be interesting to see the American public face the challenge of parsing out irrational and destructive platforms from legitimate arguments. That is where the perhaps worthy vaudeville would be - it might even be healthy? (supreme emphasis on the unqualified certainty)I would like to see a female President at some point in America's future but Palin is unfortunately a theatrical clown and village idiot rather then an honest representation of leading American acumen and rational talent. When a female candidate (preferably more then one in addition to Hillary Clinton) will have the courage to step forward we may see the interest in Palin subside as a comic historical anecdote. |

Obama supported and voted for it as a senator and continued with more of the same, so it isn't as though he is blameless.
As South Korea is CDMA only, could this be the real reason behind the leaked reports of CDMA iPhones? Verizon's a decent carrier, but Apple seems to like their partnership with AT&T too much.

First off, none of you were screaming this during Bush's tenure. I'm going to all you out on that. The only time you guys ever even poked your head out of your holes is when Ron Paul was running, and that was about 7 years in.Secondly, much of the deficit of this year is not from Obama's legislation. The bailout was during Bush's era, and that accounted for a large portion of the deficit this year.Next, the stimulus plan did indeed cost a great deal, but the fact is it has done a great deal. States were looking down the barrel of a gun, and this more or less saved thousands of state jobs. There are some problems that it can't fix (eg. California), but without it, there'd probably be a few million more out of work.Also, while no one talks about it, the GM and Chrysler bailouts saved probably around 2.6 million jobs or so. When it looked like they would fail people were talking about 3 million people to lose their jobs, and yet only around 400,000 or so lost their jobs. While no one brings this up, I conider that a couple million jobs saved.The unemployment rate did not reach 10.2 percent because of the stimulus plan as nihil states, rather it got there in spite of it. Had we not had the stimulus plans, and even the bailouts, unemployment would probably be closer to 20% than 10%. Add 2.6 million to jobless now, as well as all the government workers who would have lost their jobs.Now, onto the healthcare bill. The CBO has scored the house bill as saving billions over 10 years. It doesn't cost the government a penny in debt, rather it will cut costs. You look at the price tag, but not at the ways they are paying for it.So, let's see, Obama is following sound advice of spending to end a recession (many economists are pissed off the stimulus didn't have more aid to states), even if it raises the debt. So he's stuck between a rock and a hard place and all you guys want to do is bitch and whine about how he should have never gotten stuck there in the first place. The problem is, by taking the job of the president he got stuck there from the get go.Lastly, President Obama has set up many of his major spending programs in the first year. The stimulus is paid for, the bailouts are done, that's about 1.5 billion you can chop off the deficit right there. If we finally cut down the bloated military budget perhaps it will come down even more.?
A++++++WOULD RESEARCH AGAIN. |

Nereid, you've not earned enough of my own respect for me to spend any time as your research assistant. You will not find truth with the burn-the-heretic approach observable in places like the Bad Astronomy and Universe Today forum; you will only alienate those with whom you communicate, and hopefully you don't talk to people you meet in the real world like this. Were I to even go to the theorists by now and explain to them that you wanted to know these things, most of them would tell me to ignore you and all of the other pseudo-skeptics. People who reserve all of their skepticism for against-the-mainstream ideas should be left alone to believe what they are so hell-bent on believing. The scientific term is called "motivated reasoning". It's not how science should be done. Science is about building relationships, keeping an open mind, reading as much as you can about the various theories, and waiting until you've actually learned a theory to compare and contrast it with those you already understand. You've not done any of this. Your approach lacks sufficient merit to yield any results, and by bringing me in as your research assistant, you just mire me in your own poo.Once again, I will ask you: Why is it that you do not directly ask Anthony Peratt or Wal Thornhill yourself? I'll help you out: It's because your purpose is to shut people up. You don't care about learning the other theory. You guys have already been sufficiently hostile to the principal scientists that they no longer want anything to do with you. Now, it's really just me, and your goal now is to convince others that they should not pay attention to me. Part of my purpose here has been to just get you to go onto the record. People are going to want to know in 25 or 50 years from now why it was that it took so long for people to realize that laboratory plasmas are like cosmic plasmas. And we'll have this wonderful record to refer to. People will demonstrate through example which you have set. After all, the BAUT can't be trusted to preserve anything which casts them in a poor light.But don't get too caught up into thinking that the EU will never penetrate public awareness beyond the Internet. Talbott's latest video ups the stakes for you guys. I highly recommend that you watch the first (of three) installments, which is now complete ("Symbols of an Alien Sky"). That will give you a good feel for the strength of the mythological evidence -- which I'm quite sure you know nothing about at this point.

OpenCL and hardware acceleration were two of the most touted features of 10.6, and h.264 acceleration is directly available through new Quicktime APIs if Adobe were to integrate more with the platform. |
